Ontario's fishing regulations come as a 148-page PDF that is slow to search and easy to misread. This turns them into a map. Tap your zone, or use your location, and see the seasons, catch limits, and what is open or closed right now.

What it does

A clickable map of all 20 fisheries management zones, drawn from Ontario's official boundaries, so the shapes are always current.
Find your zone with your phone's location, or tap anywhere on the map to jump to it.
Open now and closed now for every species, worked out from today's date, with badges for anything opening or closing in the next two weeks.
Pick a species and the whole province recolours to show where it is open, with the season and limits for each zone.
Search a lake and see its zone and stocking history, pulled from the province's fish stocking records.
Works offline once it has loaded, and installs to your home screen like an app.
Every zone has its own link you can share.

Privacy

No account, no sign-up, no tracking. The regulations are built into the page, so the heart of the app works with no connection once it has loaded. When it is online it pulls the official zone boundaries, the map tiles, and the stocking records from public government and mapping services, the same as any map would. If you use Find My Zone, your location is worked out on your phone and is not sent anywhere.

The zone shapes come live from Ontario's official GeoHub boundary service. The stocking records come from the province's Fish Stocking Data. The base map is from CARTO. The regulations themselves are from the official Ontario Fishing Regulations Summary.

Worth knowing

It is an unofficial tool. The species and seasons are reliable, but a few catch limits and waterbody exceptions were pulled automatically out of that PDF and can be rough, so it is worth confirming against the official summary before you head out.
