Unwrapped
open the app ↗Spotify will email you an export of everything you have ever listened to. This takes that export and turns it into a dashboard. Drop in the zip, or the files inside it, and you get your totals, your habits, and a pile of charts. It all runs in your browser.
What it does
- Your headline numbers: streams, artists, tracks, active days, skip rate, and time spent on podcasts.
- A listening personality that sorts you into one of seven types, like Night Owl or Explorer, from your actual patterns.
- How you listen: new finds against old comfort loops, how much you shuffle, and how much happens after dark.
- Charts for listening over time, a listening clock, day of the week, and your top artists and tracks. Filter it all by year.
- The deep end: 101 stats dealt at random from about 150 of them, in every chart shape I could think of, running from respectable to ridiculous.
- A step-by-step guide for requesting your data from Spotify, since that menu is easy to lose.
- Light and dark mode. Tap the title to switch.
Privacy
This is the whole point of it. Everything runs in your browser. Your export is read on your own device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no server to send it to. Even the zip is unpacked locally, using a feature built into the browser.
Try it without your own data
There are six sample listeners built in, each with five years of made-up history shaped to a personality, from a one-artist devotee to a podcast person. Tap one on the landing page to look around before you dig out your own export.
Worth knowing
It is an early web version, built mobile first as the groundwork for a phone app later on. The extended export Spotify sends has more detail than the basic one, so a few of the stats only show up if you upload the fuller file.
